The Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch

Last weekend I went back to London for my cousin’s Hen Do and unexpectedly stumbled across a new favourite: The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch.

I really liked the large, open lobby.

This hotel is one of three, the others being in Holborn (also London) and Amsterdam. Nestled in the heart of Great Eastern Street just a four minute walk away from Old Street Station, the location of the Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch is definitely a selling point as it is practically surrounded by restaurants, bars, clubs and [more importantly] midnight eats [If you like kebabs you’re on to a winner here].

Here are two other things I loved about this hotel:

ONE] The decor. Now this was such a lovely surprise, considering the cost of a standard room is a similar cost to that of a London Premier Inn [in some areas]. The hotel felt very new and definitely had a scandi-library feel to it with green, gold and brown hues.

This is a VERY comfy Double Bed
100% stealable idea for a tidy desk space

TWO] The Hotel staff are incredible. This is no exaggeration – any question/request we had was met with a warm smiles and an instant resolution. I turned up to the hotel with a broken handbag and asked if they had any super glue to fix it. The lady at reception said she’d have a look for me and it was brought up to the room by the time i’d put my bags down [along with an iron, ironing board and an extra towel].

TOP TIP: The rooms are a little on the small side [if you’re very tidy it won’t feel cramped at all], but this is aluded to on their website. We paid £189 for a Cosy Double [one up from their smallest room]. Have an extra £40 ish? Splash out on a ‘Roomy’ room which will get you some more space.

A library-wall in the lobby

The Verdict?
If you’re planning on going out East during the night but want easy access to the centre during the day, this is the hotel for you! I couldn’t fault any aspect of this place: It is very reasonably priced, the service is brilliant and the surroundings are magazine-worthy. What more could you want?
